Join us for the AAPIHM Movie Screening! Our first AAPIHM movie screening is hosted by Councilmember John S. Lee. This year we will screen the Asian featured movie, “The Farewell.” This uplifting film is written and directed by Lulu Wang and tells the story of a Chinese family discovering their grandmother has only a short time left to live and they collectively decide to keep her in the dark, scheduling a wedding before she dies. We will host a Q & A discussing Diversity in Hollywood: AAPI Representation, Behind-the-Scenes followed by the screening. There will be a one-hour reception before the screening where food and beverages will be served.

6 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Red Carpet / Reception

7 p.m. to 8:40 p.m. – “The Farewell” Movie Screening

8:40 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Q & A
