4th of July Fireworks at Seaside Lagoon

2019 Tafesilafa’i Pacific Islander Festival

The 23rd Annual Tafesilafa’i Festival celebrates the art, architecture, and ambience of California’s Pacific Islander Communities. Tafesilafa’i, Long Beach’s premier Pacific Islander Festival, marks its 23rd year with traditional worship, rituals, music, dances, and food. Tafesilafa’i is a clearing where issues in the Pacific Islander community in general and the Samoan community in particular are surfaced and paid attention to. It is an educative platform where contributions by Pacific Islanders are made.

Concerts on the Green

Since 1975, the Valley Cultural Center has presented a series of free “Concerts on the Green” during the summer. Organized to enrich the lives of Valley residents, these concerts feature top pop, jazz, classical, folk, and world music performances every Sunday afternoon at Warner Park. The series includes food, booth vendors, and a children’s play area. Parking for concerts is available in the parking structure directly behind the stage on Califa Street for $15.

Central Avenue Jazz Festival

Two days of jazz performances pay tribute to “The Avenue,” as Central Avenue was known during its renaissance years from the 1920s through the 1950s.
