Thank you to everyone who attended the Día de los Muertos opening reception on October 18 and participated in the largest collection of altars to date! The show will run through November 9 (Monday – Saturday, 10am – 4 pm).

Día de los Muertos (or Día de Muertos), translated as Day of the Dead, is a Mexican tradition that grows out of the syncretism of Catholic and indigenous practices. It is a time to remember loved ones and support their spiritual journey, and it is part of a larger tradition that sees death as a natural part of the cycle of life. While they overlap on the calendar, Día de los Muertos and Halloween are very different celebrations with very different origins.
