BENITA BIKE’S DANCEART PRESENTS OUTDOOR DANCE SHOW
Covid-19 drove us into the nooks and crannies, but Benita Bike’s DanceArt dives back into live performance with a limited-attendance outdoor dance program on Saturday, February 27, 2pm, at Tierra del Sol Foundation Parking Lot, 9919 Sunland Blvd. in Sunland. Get your free ticket by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and the number in your family-associated party. You will receive an email ticket. No walk-ins are allowed. Should Covid force us to cancel, we will notify you. This performance is FREE and supported by the California Arts Council and the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department.
This season Benita Bike’s DanceArt celebrates its 40th season, and we invite people to participate in an engaging and entertaining art event on February 27th. After introducing modern dance, our dancers will perform two lively dance works in a lovely tree-lined area. Viewers will be encouraged to ask questions and share thoughts. Benita Bike’s DanceArt, an LA-based modern dance company knows how to introduce the soul of dance to audiences. This performance features:
– Benches (premiere) takes you into a park for a day to people watch and imagine the lives of the those who are alone, in pairs, and in groups;
– Schoenfield Dances features a rag, fughetta, shuffle, and boogie and melds 20th century popular dance styles with a classical movement sensibility.

As we all continue to stay safe at home, you and your child can enroll in free virtual music classes. Learn a new instrument or continue building your skills! In 2019, Boleros de Noche’s annual celebration of boleros brought together the internationally-renowned Los Panchos – who formed in New York City in 1944 and have since become the quintessential Latin trio romantico with the young Trio Ellas, who meld traditional mariachi roots music with the sounds of everyday L.A.
Borderline explores the notion of the border – both as a metaphor for our lived experience and as a tool to undermine the certainty of the territories it defines. By occupying the in-between space that exists between two distinct conditions, we defiantly trespass into adjacent space, breakdown conventional barriers, and explore new territories.
