The William Grant Still Arts Center’s Book Club is excited to participate again in DCA’s presentation of the National Endowment for the Art’s  Big Read Program with Louise Erdrich’s contemporary classic, The Round House.

Set on a North Dakota Anishinaabe Reservation and narrated through the perspective of a 13-year-old boy, a son, who becomes witness to intense violence including sexual and genocidal violence and begins to see his own assimilation into this violence. The book is beautiful and intense. Erdrich’s language is masterful, a must read, but where better than in community to discuss.

We hold each other up in difficult times. Bring your open minds and hearts and join us virtually once a week, Thursdays at 6:30 pm Pacific starting June 3.

*Conversations will be adult. If you have a teen child whom you would like to include please contact us.
