LA Plaza Cocina is a unique space that honors the history and diversity of Mexican cuisine. It displays and traces the history of Mexico’s food and cooking culture from its indigenous roots of the Mesoamerican era to its contemporary adaptations. This t exhibition allows the community to participate by presenting family heirlooms focusing on utensils, recipes, and dishes related to Mexican and Mexican American cuisine.

The Los Angeles River Farmers’ Market

The Los Angeles River Farmers’ Market is also a community meeting place with a wide range of activities and offerings that include live music, activities for children, a rich and varied offering of artisans selling their handmade arts and crafts, and brings together farmers and producers from as close as Ventura County and as far away as the Central San Joaquin region.

City of Monterey Park’s Spring Egg Hunt

Let the hunt begin! You and your family are invited to Barnes Park to search for eggs. Thousands of eggs will be scattered throughout the field for kids of all ages to find. Eggs will contain prizes (candy, toys, etc.) Special eggs with grand prizes. There will be designated Egg Hunt times for different age groups: 0-3 years old at 5:00 p.m., 4-7 years old at 5:45 p.m. and 8-12 years old at 6:30 p.m.
