Begin your Fall Equinox by basking in joy with our upcoming online exhibition. Although we will not be able to show you these inspirational artworks via virtual tour at the center as previously planned but, we will be able to share them with you through our online (user friendly) gallery. We hope you enjoy it and go into the depths with us as we journey into the cosmos and beyond!
Using the work of Sun Ra as foundation and portal to futuristic euphoria, From Atlantis to Saturn, A Portal to Joy, dives deep underwater and pierces the great beyond of outer space in search of joy. This exhibition invites artists who envision happiness in their future and artists who create portals through their work, in which to transport the viewer, either literally or metaphorically. We explore artists who look to the sea and the stars as places to imagine and experiment with ideal futures and mystical surrealism. Visual artists include: Ramsses, Buena Johnson, Chelle Barbour, Risha Rox, Snakedoctor, Manwell Quiza, LP Aekili Ross, Cola Smith, Debra Williams, Jessie Jumanji and Videomo. Sound artists include: Sun Ra @ Berkely vs Red Beats and featuring work by
Igor Amokian, Sharp Objects, Abstract Butta Fingas, Midi Monet and more. Sun Ra albums on loan from the collection of Alden Kimbrough.
