Thirteen Latinx and Latin American theater companies and artists of the Americas. Three weeks of theater, art, music and culture in English and Spanish. One vibrant celebration in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. The 2017 Encuentro seeks to establish an active dialogue between Latinx theatre companies in the United States and our counterparts in the Americas. This festival will feature three weeks of artistic exchange, cross-company co-creation, and presented performances, in repertory, for audiences in Los Angeles, including one weekend-long International Convening of leading Latinx and Latin American theatremakers and guests produced by the Latinx Theatre Commons.

This exhibition will unite multiple local histories—of Long Beach, the Pike Amusement Park district, the US Navy, LA Chicano culture and tattoo art. Through the personal stories of 6 community members, Ink will shed light on how tattoo art is an integral part of the historical and cultural fabric of Los Angeles.
