Entrepreneurship for Artists

This four part mini workshop series is a resource for self-employed artists that are interested in the tools to be successful entrepreneurs.

Co-hosted by the Sustainable Little Tokyo Arts Action Committee and the Little Tokyo Service Center Small Business Assistance Program we aim to bridge the gap between small business and careers in the arts. Working to end the ‘starving artist’ stereotype not only will you gain valuable knowledge from our expert speakers but you’ll also find support within the Little Tokyo art community.

Guest Speaker: Commercial Photographer, Zen Sekizawa
TOPIC: Agent: Gain the knowledge needed to choose the best agent for your body of work and decide at what point to utilize the services of an agent.

Wednesday, October 9th, 7-9 PM
Guest Speaker: Artist, Kent Yoshimura
TOPIC: RFQs: Get familiar with the bidding jargon such as RFQ, CFB, IFB, RFP and more to guide you through the process of winning contracts for city commissioned artworks.

Wednesday, October 16th, 7-9 PM
Guest Speaker: Shopify Consultant, Chris Snyder
E-Commerce : Building a website on a e-commerce website to take advantage of print on demand as well as drop shipping services.

Wednesday, October 23rd, 7-9 PM
Guest Speaker: Bet Tzedek – Providing FREE legal services from entrepreneurs
TOPIC: Legal: Learn about copyrights, trademarks and contracts from lawyers specializing in these fields.

The Huntington is beginning a phased reopening. The Galleries remain closed.
