About the instructor: Kassidy Penso is a multidisciplinary artist from the East Bay Area, California. She holds a BFA in Painting and Drawing from the Laguna College of Art and Design. In her work she explores individual versus collective perception of reality through painting, often incorporating collage and found objects. She considers her work a reflection of identity, beliefs, and experiences. Kassidy’s teaching and painting inform one another, believing art making is an often undervalued form of learning; sharing and collaborating are essential aspects of creating that allow people to empathize with one another, empower people to express their ideas, and pursue their vision.
