Hilarious Habibis – hosted by Gena B. Jones and Lynn Maleh – is The Hollywood Improv’s FIRST EVER stand up showcase featuring exclusively Middle Eastern/North African [MENA] comedians. The fourth show is Thursday September 8 at 7:30pm at The Hollywood Improv in Los Angeles. In addition to several comedians of Syrian, Moroccan, and Lebanese descent, Dave Merheje (from Ramy on Hulu) headlining!

Featured in Alaraby TV and Between East, the show was created in response to a 2022 report from The WGA West’s Middle Eastern Writers Committee that found that Middle Eastern writers make up only 0.3% of employed writers. Hilarious Habibis aims to provide an opportunity to connect Middle Eastern artists with industry for casting and staffing purposes, inspiring greater inclusion and more accurate representation in media.
