Jazz music is back in Playhouse Village with the new Jazz in the Park concert series presented by the Playhouse Village Foundation and sponsored by Ice House Comedy Club. Pick up a picnic dinner from your favorite local restaurant and bring a blanket to the concerts on Sunday evenings, September 18th through October 2nd from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the stage at the new Playhouse Village Park in Pasadena. The Jazz in the Park concert series is free and open to the public.

The three-week series features an eclectic roster of notable jazz performers including the blue-note jazz musician Elliott Caine, successful contemporary bassist and songwriter Michael Haggins, and infectious Latin rhythms of the Susie Hansen Latin Jazz Trio.

Gee’s Bend: Shared Legacy

See an installation of prints made by members of Gee’s Bend Quiltmakers’ Collective. The pieces were created by pressing original quilted fabric designs face down on a wax-coated printing plate that captured the fabrics’ texture, seams, and stitching of the original. Through this innovative process, a quilt is translated to a printed surface—a new medium to explore and share the quiltmakers’ creativity. “Gee’s Bend: Shared Legacy” is presented in two six-month installments, each featuring a selection of 12 prints.
