Theatre Raymond Kabbaz presents the Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra conducted by Carlo Ponti for its season finale entitled “Orchestral Treasures”.

Celebrate unforgettable orchestral treasures by Jacques Castérède, Samuel Barber and W.A. Mozart with a one-of-a-kind program including two emerging virtuosi soloists and acclaimed soprano Lisa Delan.

The Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra launch the evening with the complex and emotional 17th century French composer Castérède’s last movement from his Symphonie No. 1 for strings. LAV is composed of professional musicians on the Los Angeles classical scene who also play for the LA Phil, among others. The ensemble is dedicated to the advocacy and support of classical music education, and have provided countless young soloists with performing opportunities over the years.

The program then follows acclaimed soprano Lisa Delan to the stage as she performs Samuel Barber’s cherished Knoxville: Summer of 1915. Ms. Delan has performed on some of the world’s leading concert stages including Lincoln Center, Davies Symphony Hall, Madrid’s Auditorio Nacional, the Moscow Conservatory, Tchaikovsky Hall, and in a special appearance at Windsor Castle.

Making their debut with the Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra are two emerging virtuosi soloists, Alexis Cai (flute) and Catherine Yom Litaker-Eisenberg (harp). They take the stage together to perform Mozart’s Flute & Harp Concerto in C major.

LAV is the only professional orchestra in the United States to offer aspiring young soloists and students unparalleled opportunity to rehearse and perform with the most talented musicians in the country

Net profit from this concert goes towards the advancement and support of music education programs in schools in Southern California
