The Huntington Botanical Gardens
The Huntington is beginning a phased reopening. The Galleries remain closed. Explore living collections of orchids and camellias, a botanical conservatory, a fragrant rose garden, a children’s garden, and more, in 16 themed gardens spread over 120 acres. Textile Arts: Mindful Mending, An Artist’s Approach
In this course, Connie Rohman will share the useful and beautiful technique of Boro stitching which originated in Medieval Japan. Boro stitching uses a simple running stitch called Sashiko stitch to bring new utility to fabric scraps and as the basis for beautiful textile art. With this simple and lovely technique, we will mindfully mend, darn, and repurpose clothing and work on original textile projects.
