Featuring 64 premier Western artists, the Masters of the American West Art Exhibition and Sale opens Saturday, February 9, 2019, at the Autry Museum of the American West. This prestigious exhibition and sale showcases paintings and sculptures by nationally recognized artists such as George Carlson, Dennis Doheny, Tammy Garcia, Z. S. Liang, Jeremy Lipking, Tim Solliday, Kevin Red Star, Mian Situ, Curt Walters, and Morgan Weistling. Proceeds from Masters support the Autry’s dynamic educational programs, ongoing collections conservation, and much more.

On opening day the museum store, and café will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and reopen at 5:30 p.m. for the Cocktail Reception and Sale.

Los Angeles Live Score Film Festival

The Los Angeles Live Score Film Festival features short films with original scores performed live-to-picture. The 2019 festival is on Saturday, July 20th at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre and is presented by Helix Collective in collaboration with the Academy of Scoring Arts. Films for the 2019 festival will be curated by the faculty at the New York Film Academy – Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Film School and Columbia College, Hollywood. 22nd Annual iPalpiti Festival of International Laureates

iPalpiti features a select consortium of prize-winning classical solo musicians from around the world. Under the direction of Maestro Eduard Schmieder, the iPalpiti orchestra is acclaimed for its “beauteous string playing”, “lustrous, polished tone” and “splendid  and colorful sound.” iPalpiti is Italian for “heartbeats.”   Check website for additional concerts that occur from July 5 to July 20.

2019 Tafesilafa’i Pacific Islander Festival

The 23rd Annual Tafesilafa’i Festival celebrates the art, architecture, and ambience of California’s Pacific Islander Communities. Tafesilafa’i, Long Beach’s premier Pacific Islander Festival, marks its 23rd year with traditional worship, rituals, music, dances, and food. Tafesilafa’i is a clearing where issues in the Pacific Islander community in general and the Samoan community in particular are surfaced and paid attention to. It is an educative platform where contributions by Pacific Islanders are made.
