A youth theatre company OPENING NIGHT THEATER brings this classic, imaginative Roald Dahl tale to life on stage with the students of Girls Academic Leadership Academy. Young Matilda Wormwood spins stories and stands up to bullies, but can she avoid getting sent to the chokey by the wretched Agatha Trunchbull? The whole family will enjoy this story about raising up the smallest voices and fighting for what’s right.

Gee’s Bend: Shared Legacy

See an installation of prints made by members of Gee’s Bend Quiltmakers’ Collective. The pieces were created by pressing original quilted fabric designs face down on a wax-coated printing plate that captured the fabrics’ texture, seams, and stitching of the original. Through this innovative process, a quilt is translated to a printed surface—a new medium to explore and share the quiltmakers’ creativity. “Gee’s Bend: Shared Legacy” is presented in two six-month installments, each featuring a selection of 12 prints.

The Watts Towers Tour Guide Program offers visitors a unique and in-depth look at one of Los Angeles’ most iconic landmarks.
