This exhibit presents the nation’s story through profiles of twenty-four revolutionary African American men, including Muhammad Ali, James Baldwin, Ta-Nehisi Coates, Ryan Coogler, W.E.B. Du Bois, and Carter G. Woodson. Each biography is paired with a selection of work by a noted contemporary artist, accentuating the subjects’ individual legacies while examining broader themes of masculinity, heroism, black identity, and more.

Tuesdays – Saturdays 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Sundays 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Concerts on the Green

Since 1975, the Valley Cultural Center has presented a series of free “Concerts on the Green” during the summer. Organized to enrich the lives of Valley residents, these concerts feature top pop, jazz, classical, folk, and world music performances every Sunday afternoon at Warner Park. The series includes food, booth vendors, and a children’s play area. Parking for concerts is available in the parking structure directly behind the stage on Califa Street for $15.

Luminario Ballet “Choose Your Identity”

Luminario Ballet will perform ballet, modern dance and aerial dance repertory from 2009-2019 including Lewitzky Dance Company’s “TURF” which is about guarding our “turf” from outsiders and each other; excerpts from “LedZAerial”- aerial and dance with the music of Led Zeppelin; and other repertory.
