#playlist: Sunday Morning Mix
:
As part of our ongoing #PLAYLIST series, CAAM Assistant Curator Taylor Bythewood-Porter shares music and memories from Sunday mornings with her father. My father, Maurice, had a tradition of making Sunday breakfast for the family, and I’d rush down the stairs to help set the table as he danced in the kitchen to the sounds of Motown. This was our time together, and he’d tell me stories about growing up outside of Chicago or interrupt food prep to teach me how to dance the cool jerk. As we got older, schedules changed, but what remained were the memories and the music.
