This solo show by Komla Letsu Phillip is a collective of acrylic canvases painted by the artist in his studio in Ho, Ghana. KONTRAPUNKTUS presents THE BEGOTTEN SON: Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach
KONTRAPUNKTUS triumphantly returns to Westwood this May 28th with “THE BEGOTTEN SON: Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach.” This rare, yet scintillating production commemorates the artistry of arguably the most important, yet unheralded composer whose ingenuity ushered in the Classical era of music, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach.

This world-premiere musical gives voices to Filipino immigrants navigating old lives and new beginnings, eight-thousand miles from home. Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 2:00 p.m., and Sundays at 5:00 p.m.

Paying homage to many great musical icons —from Janis Joplin to Menudo, from The Doors to Héctor Lavoe, from Jimi Hendrix to Rubén Blades— the play is as much about Navaja’s…
