LAMAGLearn
Disabled Reflexivity: An Examination of “Self” in Embodied Illness Art Practice
Friday, February 12 at 1 PM PST
While exhibition artist Panteha Abareshi’s earlier work focused on a hyper-personal examination of “self”, the new work in Tender Calamities its situated in what Abareshi describes as “Xeno-Crip” body of thought. As the artist shares, “While I strive to embody the post-human abandonment of self, I also greatly value the acknowledgment of when I ‘fail’ to do so.”

In this talk, learn more about the new work featured in Tender Calamities and Abareshi’s approach to disability/illness.
