re-adaptations explores the ways in which monumental events have created a seismic shift in how we connect – with each other, our daily routines, and inner-self. Society has had to reinvent itself to adapt. We have had to relearn and re-examine what’s necessary, and most importantly, reconnect with those relationships whose significance has only become more apparent. re-adaptations not only shows the talent here at Angels Gate Cultural Center, but also demonstrates the resilience of artists to adapt, understand, and ultimately reinvent themselves when faced with challenges.

The exhibition includes works by Angels Gate Studio Artists: Phoebe Barnum, Delora Bertsch, Lynn Doran, Beth Elliott, Henry Krusoe, Vanessa Madrid, Tim Maxeiner, W.S. Milner, Lowell Nickel, Michelle Seo, Nancy Voegeli-Curran and Ann Weber. Gallery appointments are pending the reopening of the AGCC galleries at the guidance of state and local health orders. Subscribe to our newsletter to be notified when appointments become available.

‘Blissful Introspection’ by Komla Letsu Phillip

This solo show by Komla Letsu Phillip is a collective of acrylic canvases painted by the artist in his studio in Ho, Ghana. In his first solo presentation, Komla promotes genuine acceptance of oneself. In a world where we are constantly stimulated, Komla uses his work to express what silence makes him feel. The works depict figures in lively settings with distinctive blue eyes that subliminally signify mental peace.
