Esteemed altarista Ofelia Esparza is a Chicana artist from East Los Angeles whose stunning and deeply meaningful ofrendas over the past four decades have earned her recognition as an NEA National Heritage Fellow. Alongside her daughter artist Rosanna Esparza Ahrens, Ofelia has shared her knowledge and art about el Día de Los Muertos with communities nationally and internationally.
