Join Jessica M. Wilson in a six-session intergenerational poetry workshop exploring observation, memory and speaking your truth. This workshop will bring teens, adults, and seniors together in a conversation around placemaking and identity. Open to new and seasoned poets, this workshop is an opportunity to study poems, participate in critique, generate new work, and build community.

Jessica is a poet born in East Los Angeles. On top of her own prolific poetry practice, Jessica teaches with California Poets in the Schools and is the founder of the Los Angeles Poet Society.

Much of Simmons’s work in this exhibit centers on his signature erasure techniques. Festival of the Chariots

Three colorful forty-foot chariots, handmade in the ancient Indian tradition, are hand pulled by huge ropes down Main St. in Santa Monica, accompanied by musicians, singers, and dancers.
