A six ton concrete sculpture will be on view to the public in West Hollywood Park from sunrise to sunset through November 2017 before disassembling into 40 individual sculpture pieces and then migrating throughout the city to be reinstalled in approximately 20 different public sites. Much of Simmons’s work in this exhibit centers on his signature erasure techniques. Early in his career, he drew in white chalk on readymade chalkboards or directly onto slate-painted walls, then smudged the images with his hands.
