On Saturday, June 6th beginning at 7pm listeners can live stream soundpedro2020schizophonia at soundpedro.org. Following the live kick-off and Earmaginations sound performances, sound works will be continuously released throughout the month of June concluding with a SynthLab online dance party on June 30th at 7pm.

Schizophonia is a term coined by R. Murray Schafer to describe the splitting of an original sound and its electroacoustic reproduction. The invention of electroacoustic equipment enables the recording and transmission of sound to anywhere around the world – setting the theme for soundpedro 2020.

Virtual kick-off begins at 7pm on June 6th with a video welcome and announcement of sound art releases with streamed Earmaginations sound performances. A simultaneous community sound event will begin at 7:30pm in which virtual attendees are invited to live stream soundpedro into their local communities from windows, balconies, and front porches. Artists’ sound works and artifacts will be continuously released through June 29th. A SynthLab online dance party will stream on June 30th at 7pm. Only July 4th, an interactive living map of soundpedro2020schizophonia will be released. Sound works will continue to be available online through Thanksgiving. Attendees are invited to share images and sound using #soundpedro.

Virtual attendees are invited to live stream soundpedro from their porches, windows and balconies in a simultaneous community sound event at 7:30pm on June 6th. Bring out your sound equipment and share this event with everyone in your community. There will be more info on how you can share soundpedro pics from your setup with the whole event.

soundpedro is a free, experimental niche event presenting ear-oriented art that investigates the way we perceive and experience sound. soundpedro is produced by FLOOD, the artist group that has produced soundpedro and its former iteration SoundWalk for 10 years.
