Southland Sessions showcases the vibrancy and resilience of creators across Southern California in up-close, virtual “sessions.” From high school operas and drive-thru art exhibitions to Chicano comedies and underground DJ sets, lo-fi to high brow, whether it’s at home or concerts at the park, we are presenting, reporting, and bringing resources to support the arts in our city.

Tune-in for episodes, daily articles, resources and events exploring all the facets of arts and culture in the Southland.

Southland Sessions drops July 15 at 8PM Pacific Standard Time.

This program has been funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and the City of Los Angeles, Department of Cultural Affairs.

The only way to heal the body is if we heal the heart and Raquel lived in her own flesh how laughter can help her to live happier and thanks to her personal experience she founded RED NOSE to help others who are in hospitals to have happier days.

A Look Back: Mapping Another LA: The Chicano Art Movement

This archived exhibition explores the 1970’s Chicano art movement in East Los Angeles. With the establishment of the first Chicano art gallery in East Los Angeles, Chicano artists initiated a collective reimagining the urban landscape through such media as photography, graphic arts, murals, painting, and sculpture. These artists mapped another L.A., harnessing their work as part of a social protest and community empowerment movement.
