Angels Gate Cultural Center (AGCC) is pleased to present Stuart Hamilton: Earthly Meditations, opening in the gallery on January 20th. The exhibition presents a survey of works created by the late artist during his tenure as an AGCC Studio Artist over the past ten years.

Many of the objects depicted in Stuart Hamilton’s meticulously rendered drawings and paintings relate to specific times and places in the artist’s history. Earthly details taken out of context – stones, sticks, and bone fragments – are arranged in geometric patterns reflecting a sense of order. His attentive mark-making on maps demonstrate a meditative process that carefully considers the natural world, with personal references to place and self-reflection.

The exhibition will remain on view in the AGCC galleries through March 26th.
For more information, gallery hours and current COVID-19 protocol visit http://ow.ly/Hr4650Hp16v.

This exhibition is supported, in part, by the Department of Cultural Affairs Los Angeles.
