Join us for a series of Día de los Muertos in-person art workshops on Saturdays, October 8, 15, 22, and 29 from 10:00 a.m. to noon while supplies last on a first-come, first-served basis. Workshops will be held outdoors at the Sun Valley Youth Arts Center. Free for the entire family. On October 29, join us for an in-person ritual danza performed by Danza Temachtia Quetzacoatl beginning at 11:30 a.m. All current Covid-19 City of Los Angeles protocols will be followed, so please bring your masks. Vaccination cards and IDs will be checked.

Aquarium Holidays features festive décor, shopping, snowfall in the Great Hall, and appearances by Santa Diver. Santa Diver will be delivering an ocean of gifts to the Aquarium for its animals, including the sea lions and fish. On weekends December 3 through 18 the Aquarium will have photo opportunities with Santa. Also during Aquarium Holidays, the Aquarium will host a Kwanzaa celebration and Hanukkah storytelling.
Around 900 years ago, a Maya scribe made the Códice Maya de México, a sacred book that tracked and predicted movements of the planet Venus. Today it is the oldest book of the Americas, one of only four surviving Maya manuscripts that predate the arrival of Europeans. A remarkable testament to the complexity of Indigenous astronomy, the Codice on display in the US for the first time in 50 years.
Situated amid the Downtown Los Angeles skyscrapers, the rink will be open for ice skating daily, including holidays. There will also be a variety of free activities, including live concerts, youth programs, and special events.
