This year marks the 30th Anniversary of the Los Angeles 1992 Civil Uprising. On Friday, April 29 at 3:00 p.m. in Leimert Plaza Park, the Department of Cultural Affairs will present Voices of the Rebellion: 30th Anniversary Reflections featuring work written and performed by commission winners:

Conney D. Williams, orange juice and other crazy **** that happens to black people, spoken word and music by Radha Botofasina
Presented in conjunction with Monumental Los Angeles, a travelling public art installation initiative hosted and supported in part by Council District 10. The theatrical performances for Voices of the Rebellion were written and performed to remember, honor, illumine, elevate, and uplift the community of South LA, and the City of Los Angeles at large, allowing us to reflect on how the uprising impacted our lives, eventually leading to necessary change and reforms.
