COLA Programming

The 2020 COLA Online Performances will begin with Openwork, a live streaming event on
June 21 at 10:00 a.m. by COLA Fellow Roxanne Steinberg.

The 2020 COLA Online Visual Arts Exhibition will be accompanied by public programming from LAMAGPlay, which includes Walk with Me on Saturday, June 27. Join visual arts COLA Fellow Holly J. Tempo for a walk in her neighborhood to learn about her creative process, taking place on LAMAG’s Instagram Stories (@lamagbarnsdall).

The performing and literary artists showcase previously scheduled to be held at Grand Performances and the physical visual arts exhibition previously scheduled to be held at DCA’s Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery (LAMAG) with the Barnsdall Art Park Foundation (BAPF) will not take place due to the facilities closures as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Fellows were selected by a panel comprising curators, educators, museum directors, and past COLA Fellows. The Fellowship provides each artist with $10,000 to produce a new body of work.
DCA is working with the 2020 COLA Fellows and this year’s catalog designer Garland Kirkpatrick and his team, Erik Benjamins and Josh Caffrey, to instead develop and launch the 2020 COLA Online Performances and Visual Arts Exhibition Program to premier and showcase the Fellows’ new work in an engaging and creative digital format at: culturela.org and lamag.org this summer.
