Partnered Arts Program between Los Angeles World Airports and the Department of Cultural Affairs

Mark Bradford, "Bell Tower," LAX

In 2000 the Department of Cultural Affairs entered into an agreement with the Los Angeles World Airports to administer the Art Program at LAX and LA/Ontario International Airports, and the LAX FlyAway® bus terminal. The purpose of the LAWA Art Program is to provide opportunities for educational, entertaining, and enriching cultural experiences for the traveling public. The Art Program showcases local and regional artists through temporary exhibitions, site-specific performances, and permanent public art installations, which enhance and humanize the overall travel experience for millions every year.
