LACMA- Latin Sounds: Meet the Musicians
While the concert series is currently on hold, LACMA has developed a new audio series, Latin Sounds: Meet the Musicians. Spend your evenings with world-renowned artists as they play everything from Indigenous works to the latest sounds from Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, and Los Angeles! Featured artists have included Dori Caymmi, Costazul, Echo Park Project, Mongorama, and Chuchito Valdes.
Jazz at LACMA: Meet the Musicians Live!
This year would have marked Jazz at LACMA’s 29th season of celebrating L.A.’s finest jazz musicians. While the concert series is currently on hold, you can join them for a virtual music experience hosted by LACMA’s Mitch Glickman, featuring performers planned for the 2020 season. The events will include interviews with the musicians, live performances, and video clips from the groups.
Islamic Art Now: Contemporary Art of the Middle East
In recent years, the parameters of Islamic art (particularly as defined by museums, commercial art galleries, and private collections) have expanded to include contemporary works by artists from or with roots in the Middle East. These artists draw inspiration from their own cultural traditions, using techniques, and incorporating imagery and ideas from earlier periods. Explore the LACMA Collection of Contemporary Art of the Middle East.
