Los Angeles on Film: The Exiles (1961) and Legacy of Exiled NDNZ (2014)

A documentary/reenactment directed by the late Kent Mackenzie, The Exiles depicts the life of a young group of American Indians over the course of a typical night in the Bunker Hill district of 1950s Los Angeles. Birch Biting Workshop

Birch bark has many different uses. In this workshop, Kelly Church (Ottawa/Ojibwe) will discuss and show participants the various uses for birch bark, and demonstrate how to create butterflies, dragonflies, and flowers with birch bark biting. Navajo Code Talkers: A Journey of Remembrance (2017)

This poignant film follows the return of six surviving Navajo Code Talkers to five Pacific island sites—where their unbreakable battlefield terminology, based on the unwritten Navajo language, helped U.S. forces overcome Japanese expansion in the Pacific theater during World War II.
