On the night a death-house chaplain must hand over the reigns to the confident young pastor set to replace him, the men encounter an enigmatic inmate who challenges their convictions and changes their lives forever. Death House is a startling new piece of theatre that explores justice, redemption, and the possibility that we’re all more connected than we may want to admit.
Six friends head out of the city on their annual weekend retreat. With no social media, no cell phones, no internet allowed at all, this leaves them with one thing to do… look up from their screens and talk to each other. Arugakki returns to Grand Annex! Master drummer Kristofer Bergstrom with the Grand Vision Foundation’s Team Taiko and friends from Los Angeles Taiko Institute perform their newest works for Japanese drums, including their one-of-a-kind mochi-making extravaganza.
Luminario Ballet will perform ballet, modern dance and aerial dance repertory from 2009-2019 including Lewitzky Dance Company’s “TURF” which is about guarding our “turf” from outsiders and each other; excerpts from “LedZAerial”- aerial and dance with the music of Led Zeppelin; and other repertory. Special Guest: superstar aerialist and aerial choreographer Dreya Weber (Cher, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Britney, PINK) Stay with us afterwards for drinks and dancing!
