Plaza de la Raza is the only multidisciplinary cultural arts and educational center dedicated to serving Eastside communities in Los Angeles. Founded in 1970 by prominent labor, business and civic leaders, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit offers affordable after-school, intergenerational arts education programs to nearly 5,000 children, teens and adults each year. Annually, Plaza presents more than 500 classes, which are taught quarterly by local artists and performers. Over 25,000 visitors attend its free cultural programs, which includes their annual Dia de Los Muertos Festival.
